Wire Transfer Representative job – First American Bank – Elk Grove Village, IL

This hourly (non-exempt) position is responsible for the electronic transfer of domestic and international funds to other banks and for the correct posting of incoming funds to customer and internal accounts.

Originate outgoing wire transfers, both domestic and international, for First American Bank customers and our partners at other institutions.

Utilize specialized software to input wire data, communicate with the Federal Reserve, execute the wire transfer, and purchase foreign currency all within specified time frames.

Utilize special account software to view customer accounts and answer general account questions as well as questions pertaining to wire transfers.Responsible for user setups and profile maintenance within the wire system as well as our Business Banking platform.

Collect customer information, wire transfer details and special requests.

Post or apply wire transactions to customer accounts.

Perform administrative tasks associated with the completion, distribution and filing of wire transfers.

Operate a personal computer and utilize computer software applications on a daily basis including spreadsheets, on-line account systems and wire transfer systems.Review customer originated outgoing wire transfers received via interfacing cash management software.

Must be flexible with cross training in other areas of the Central Operations Department.

High School degree or equivalent.

One to three years of previous bookkeeping or bank operations experience required.

Solid written and verbal communication skills are required.

Previous experience with Excel spreadsheets and Access databases is preferred.

A high level of customer service skills are required to respond to calls received from customers requesting wires and inquiring about the wire transfer process.

Must be comfortable working with a Windows based operating systems.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are required.

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment to meet Federal Reserve cut off times, while maintaining accuracy.

Our Disaster Recovery site is located in Vernon Hills and during testing; travel is required to that site.

Typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30am – 5:30pm, broken into two shifts 7:30am – 4:30pm and 8:30am – 5:30pm. Must be available to work both shifts.
