Vdrive Maps Any Folder As Temporary Or Permanent Virtual Drive

If you have to work on a particular folder or set of folders for a prolonged time period, then accessing all the many directories just to reach your destination folders can be quite troublesome and time wasting. A better alternative is to use Vdrive, also called Virtual Driver, a freeaware application that lets users map folders and directories to virtual drives. You can even assign a drive extension to the selected folder and give it a label of your choice.

The application offers two different mapping options—Permanent and Temporary. Either ways, the process to map drive remains essentially the same. In temporary mapping, the mapping will no longer exist after a PC reboots while permanent mapping stays the same even after you restart your PC.

To get started, right-click on any folder that you’d like to map to virtual drive. Click on Map virtual drive. You will then be presented with a few options to choose from.

Specify a drive letter for the new virtual drive. Also, enter a label of your choice. You can leave the Icon option unchanged. Choose from permanent or temporary mapping options. Click OK to confirm.

Now, a new virtual drive will be created which can be accessed from My Computer.

It supports all Windows OS, including the latest Windows 7, testing was carried out on Windows 7 x86 system.
