Job Summary:
The Technologist – CT performs computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists.

Responsibilities:
Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.

Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.

Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Ensures high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history). Provides prompt submission of all images and documents to PACS. Responds promptly to Radiologists requests for additional imaging or quality improvement.

Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies: State, Federal and Local, and Joint Commission.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:Required Credential(s):
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Registered Radiology Technician or Nuclear Medicine, credentialed from the Florida Department of Health, licensure or eligible.

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Radiologic Technologist licensure required.

Education:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required
