Full-time, Internship

Assist project managers and provide engineering support to the Sewer Unit / Infrastructure Systems Group in conducting engineering and managing a variety of construction activities.

Essential Functions

  • Utilize Auto Cad, ArcGIS and Arcmap to develop drawings and maps;
  • Maintain the Relocations GIS layers and databases up-to-date;
  • Assist project managers in conducting design review of Relocations small projects;
  • Assist project managers in conducting evaluations to identify impacts of road improvements to WSSC’s facilities;
  • Attend field and office meetings with project managers as needed;
  • Conduct analysis and other related duties to support Relocations Unit as assigned by the Unit Coordinator;
  • Complete a rotation with both the Water Infrastructure Unit and the Sewer Infrastructure Unit.

Other Functions

Perform other related duties as required.

Work Environment And Physical Demands

  • Intern will be assigned a working space with a desktop computer to perform assigned tasks;
  • Standard office environment with some field time.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of GIS and AutoCAD;
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

Minimum Education, Experience Requirements

Completed junior level civil engineering college course work.
