Savannah Bee’s mission is to provide pure healthy honey and hive inspired health and beauty products while educating people about the wonders of the honey bee and preserving the art of beekeeping.

Staying true to Savannah Bee’s mission, Ted Dennard, Owner and President, is using his expanded reach to educate more people about the wonder of the honeybee. In 2013, he founded the Bee Cause Project to stimulate curiosity in young people about the importance of honey bees in our lives, and the need to understand and embrace them and to care about their well-being through the installation of bee hives in 1,000 schools. He regularly speaks with various organizations, garden clubs, and loves teaching kids (and adults) about honeybees. Ted’s lifelong passion for honeybees is seen in his company, the specialty honey, and the luxurious, beehive-based body care products he distributes. Today, Savannah Bee Company is working to maintain quality and improve systems while expanding the company’s reach. Ted’s hope is that Savannah Bee Company emulates a beehive where all his business touches is benefitted.

Position Summary

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining customer experience within the store, oversees and is accountable for the operation of a store ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandise, inventory, expense control, human resources management, and managing operating costs and shrinkage. The Store Manager brings energy, creativity and innovative thinking to the running and development of the store as if it were their own business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Training and developing store employees in all aspects of the business; directing and monitoring training and development for all store personnel
  • Community outreach and relationship building within the established area market
  • Ensuring that each Customer receives outstanding Customer Service by providing a Customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Customer Service
  • Analyzing and measuring business trends; developing and implementing plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives
  • Controlling shrink, expenses, and payroll
  • Ensuring appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies and presentations, signage, and assortment in all departments; ensuring selling floor is adequately stocked
  • Comparison shopping and reporting results; sharing information with Supervisor
  • Reviewing department/store trends and recommending and initiating changes for maximizing goals and objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-throughs, and audits
  • Continually evaluating and reacting to performance issues and actively recruiting store candidates
  • Fostering an environment where improvements to products, processes and service is welcomed and encouraged
  • Acting as a brand ambassador for SBC and its products
  • Building a solid team of individuals who display outstanding customer service, sales skills, upbeat, eager, positive and support the store team.
  • Loss prevention and Security of Store and Staff
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system
  • Ability to communicate with associates and guests
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • 3-5 years store management experience or equivalent

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
