Sr. Sales Specialist (Network Security) – Federal Intel job – Forcepoint – Herndon, VA

Forcepoint is seeking an experienced, high-energy Account Executive with a proven track record of selling network security solutions to the Department of Defense. To be considered, you must be willing to obtain a US government security clearance.

Essential Functions

Position requires a senior sales professional with a proven ability to identify leads, qualify, develop and close business.

The ideal candidate has sales experience in and around the Department of Defense (DoD), USAF, US Navy and US ARMY with a technical background in security software.

Work with customers on a daily basis to generate sales revenue and provide account management support.

Demonstrate the ability to analyze the needs of customers and determine how to position Forcepoint’s products and professional services to competitively meet those needs.

Provide professional leadership and coordination to the sales support team on revenue opportunities.

Possess a thorough understanding of the “sales steps to closure” and the internal/external financial planning and DoD acquisition processes.

Maintain an awareness of competitive offerings and strategies across the DoD.

Meet sales objectives established by Forcepoint’s management.

Act as liaison between customers and internal departments to ensure smooth delivery of products and services.

Coordinate meetings and product demonstrations between company personnel, vendors and customers.

Build a strong pipeline of new business opportunities such that the sales pipeline reflects the capability to meet and exceed sales goals on a quarterly basis.

Provide professional leadership and coordination to the sales support team on revenue opportunities.

Maintain an awareness of competitive offerings and strategies

The role requires up to 40% travel.

Qualification/Skills

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 7+ years’ experience attaining or exceeding set quotas in the network security arena.

Experience selling multi-level security software or security solutions into and across the DoD.

Experience selling network infrastructure-based security appliances including, but not limited to, Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs, an dSecurity Proxies.

Knowledge of routing and switching.

Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation ( FAR) the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation ( DFAR)

Strong professional network with operational GS 13-15 , C level and SES decision makers

Proven negotiating skills

Candidates must have superior communication and interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to quality service

Must be willing and able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance; Active Top Secret Clearance preferred.
