As a Product Specialist, you will be the key stakeholder on the agile team who serves as the customer proxy, and is responsible for working with the Sr. Product Marketing Managers and other stakeholders (internal and external) – including other Product Managers and development teams – to define and prioritize the team backlog so that the solution effectively addresses user needs while maintaining technical integrity.

The Product Manager is a member of the Marketing organization, but is expected to work closely with engineering teams and participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and other activities which impact NPI goals or deliverables.

The Product Specialist reports directly to the Product Marketing Leader and will be based in Niantic, CT.


  • Developing and managing new product introduction (NPI) pipeline, including voice of the customer (VOC), business case development & justification, needs requirement definition and product launch into our defined markets.
  • Program backlog management, which consists of creating, managing, and prioritizing the program backlog.
  • Actively participates in daily stand-ups, iteration planning meetings, sprint reviews, retrospectives, demos and backlog grooming processes.
  • Translating customer needs in product requirements and/or user stories
  • Ensures that the backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the Scrum Team will work on next
  • Participates in relevant product management meetings, planning, and backlog/vision refinement sessions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the relevant product offerings and is expected to quickly become an expert in the product from a feature / function perspective.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business
  • Minimum 5 years experience in technical product marketing including: new product development experience using structured development processes, competency in VOC and product development research, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with software systems and/or automation technology
