Supervise the total process from order make up to shipment of the product to its final destination. Responsible for the efficient and timely shipment of orders to provide the highest level of service. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervises the department’s daily activities and workflow. Assigns daily work directions, resolves problems, prepares schedules, sets deadlines to ensure the timely completion of work, and disseminates policy to employees.
Collects data required for determining department activities and assists in the coordination of related activities with other departments to ensure efficiency. Reports status of work in progress and problems encountered.
Evaluates current procedures and practices to develop and implement process improvements.
Promotes safety within department
Language Skills- Ability to read, analyze and interpret corporate communications, policy and guidelines. Ability to write reports and respond to questions from management and associates.
Mathematical Skills- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, statistical calculation and interpretation.
Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables using standard problem solving techniques. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Technical Knowledge- Understanding of work flow processing, inventory control and order fulfillment procedures.
Interpersonal/People Skills- Ability to successfully interact with a wide and varied range (ethnic, intellectual, behavioral and socio-economic) of people maintaining individual dignity while fostering a cooperative work environment.
Computer Literacy- Must have a background in automated inventory control managements systems and integration processes.
2-5 years of distribution/logistics work experience, including automation.
Education- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; professional certification in inventory management or distribution management is a plus.
