Senior Project Manager job – Fruit of the Loom, Inc. – Bowling Green, KY

Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. & leading international basic apparel company, has an immediate opening for an Senior Project Manager at its corporate headquarters in Bowling Green, KY.

Under general direction, the Sr. Project Manager PMO is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Defines project scope and objectives. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Point person for project risk escalation and mitigation. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. When appropriate, consolidates and manages inter-dependent projects as a program.

Responsibilities/Duties

Project/Program Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams in developing comprehensive project plans, including optimizing the plan by negotiating content based on priorities, resource, budget, and time frame constraints.
  • Create and maintain project documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including project schedules, status reports, meeting recaps, issues lists, design reviews and project closure.
  • Drive the resolution of project and cross functional issues with the project team and other management leaders.
  • Ensure inter-dependent projects within a program are managed effectively to maximize the overall success of the program
  • Communicate risks to stakeholders and project/program sponsors; escalate risks for mitigation.

Project/Program Tracking, Reporting, and Measurement

  • Work with internal and external support technical support to ensure data accuracy within all aspects of EPM.
  • Working with EPM department owners, develop reporting within EPM to fulfill project/program management tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Work with Business Relationship Managers to develop and maintain reporting in support of Business Account Planning.

Training and Mentoring

  • Develop training materials and facilitate on-going training on the proper use of project management tools.
  • Working with PMO management, develop training materials and facilitate on-going training on project management best practices.
  • Provide overall direction and guidance to PMO project managers.

Required Experience

6-8+ years experience managing large-scale interactive projects from discovery and design to technical development and implementation, utilizing enterprise project management techniques.

Experience in project management tools such as Microsoft Project Server 2010.

Required Qualifications

BS or BA in Business Information Systems or Computer Science (or related field), or equivalent business/systems experience.

PMP certification desired.

Knowledge of ERP applications concepts.

Demonstrated ability to partner with the business for best Business/Systems solutions
