Senior Product Tester job – Sovereign Staffing Group – Lenexa, KS


Participates in test efforts for product development or supports projects to measure quality of functional components. Leads the formal test execution phases on projects. Applies basic industry and functional area knowledge while authoring integration and system tests, configuration test questionnaires and other test materials. Executes requirements-based functional tests for all products.

Accountability, Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Validate products using black-box and grey-box techniques

· Responsible for locating errors, flaws, glitches, and identify any errors

· Identifies potential project pitfalls and helps ensure successful completion of beta tests through effective communication and flexibility

· Consolidate and report findings from alpha testing to the appropriate team members in Engineering and Leadership

· Responsible for planning overall efforts to cultivate customer relationships to provide beta test sites and customer groups for individual beta test efforts

· Provides direct support to company test participants through accurate and detailed support practices

· Review feedback and reproduce bugs reported by beta testers

· Work with our clients and sales team to scope tests

· Ship, install, uninstall, and/or retrieve beta test hardware units

· Maintains accurate records of time and duties performed

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification / Skills:

· Self-starter, self-motivated, and independent with strong work ethics

· Excellent problem determination and troubleshooting skills

· Strong project and time management skills

· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to all management levels including working collaboratively with engineers and fellow teammates

· Previous alpha and beta testing experience helpful

· Advanced technical understanding of all company products

· Automotive vehicle wiring / electrical tools

· Basic understanding of computer code and debug data

· Wireless access points and wireless networking

· Basic testing skills and good experience in automated and manual testing tools

· Ability to read, understand, and interpret a variety of internal and external documentation

Ability to use precision measuring instruments and devices

· Ability to keep accurate records and generate reports

· Ability to follow company procedures and standards

· Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle

· Must have a valid driver’s license

· Ability to be covered under company vehicle insurance

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products

Education / Experience:

· High School Diploma or G.E.D

· Associates Degree or 2 years of relevant experience

Physical Requirements:

· This position requires the ability to lift or move a minimum of 50 lbs.

· Must have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

· Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours as needed

· Local travel 25% of the time and occasional domestic travel may be required
