The Senior Category Management Analyst provides more in-depth category analysis and POS reporting using retailer, internal and syndicated data sources. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing category POS, inventory, and consumer data to help identify opportunities and provide recommendations to improve category sales through assortment and space optimization for use by both internal teams and retail partners. This position will work more with the Sales and Marketing teams to understand key objectives and provide analysis to identify retailer and category opportunities to help support fact based decisions. This position will have demonstrated proficiency in the appropriate category tools and systems and have a solid knowledge and use of the category management process.
Assist sales and marketing in analysis and actionable recommendations around market/retailer pos trends, new item tracking, assortment productivity and promotion effectiveness.
Provide standard monthly syndicated account/category level reports to sales and marketing with summary analysis of key findings within the category including account scorecard, competitive pos performance, and advertising activity.
Utilize Space Management tools to evaluate sales to space productivity performance within categories and planogram sets.
Support Category Management function with Retail customers which could include providing and presenting category reports, pog analysis, and market pos analysis/trends
Conduct retail store audits to evaluate distribution, product mix, pricing and shelf space allotment.
2-4 years of experience in category management with knowledge and use of syndicated data and planogram development. Experience in CPG industry is a plus.
4 year college degree is required
