Security Specialist job – MacAulay-Brown, Inc. – Herndon, VA

This position supports a warehouse and O&M function for a government customer. The warehouse issues and ships, receives and stores government specialized equipment. Prior to shipment, staff prepares equipment for issue by removing it from storage, inspecting it for operability and current firmware/software as well as that data stored from previous uses has been removed, keeps the location current in the property records and prepares property transfer documents. After receipt into the warehouse, staff updates property location in property records, notifies the shipper that the equipment has been received, downloads data and clears that data from the equipment, inspects the equipment, repairs defects found or arranges for repair at another facility, returns functional equipment to inventory.

This opening is for a motivated security professional with the desire to learn and grow in a rapidly changing, complex, and fast-paced work environment. Responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with government security requirements of the NISPOM, ICDs, JAFANs, and customer-driven directives. The individual selected for this position will be involved in all disciplines related to industrial security.

Duties include: Personnel Security – Assisting employees with initiating, maintaining and terminating personnel clearance actions. Performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of security procedures and requirements. Review and amend as needed security policies and procedures, OPSEC Security Plans and etc. Assisting the FSO with maintenance of FCL documentation in ISFD and e-FCL. Conducting security clearance indoctrination briefings and debriefings. Processing incoming/outgoing visit requests. Physical Security – Intrusion Detection System management, badge production, safe and lock combination changes, and maintaining databases supporting each function. Perform Random Inspections, and alarm and tamper test as required. Document Control – Receipt, dispatch, destruction, and control of classified documents. Communications Security (COMSEC) – Act as COMSEC custodian in the proper handling and control of COMSEC account. Special Programs – Assist CPSO or CSSO with employees and customer security representatives for all security actions supporting these programs. Information System Security – Must obtain Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 Certification within 6 months of employment. Will be responsible for and work closely with the FSO in managing information system security audits and creating and maintaining system security plans.

Requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an assistant or primary FSO/CPSO/CSSO or Personnel Security Specialist with the ability and desire to learn and become comfortable with all security disciplines.

Strong ability to multitask.

Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and customer service skills are required.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree coupled with 3+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree requirements.

Experience in the U.S. Government, DoD, Intelligence or contractor community supporting security administration task.

Must have minimum 2 years of significant experience with MS Word and MS Excel.

Security Clearance Requirement

Active Top Secret (TS) clearance (within the last two years) is required with current SSBI.

Individual must be SCI eligible

Individual must have passed a Polygraph or be willing to take a CI Polygraph
