RESPIRATORY THERAPIST: FULL-TIME (EVENINGS) job – Hopedale Medical Complex – Hopedale, IL


Hopedale Medical Complex is looking for a Full-time (Evenings) Respiratory Therapist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Minimum of 2 years experience preferred. Must be a graduate from an accredited respiratory care program by the AMA. CRT or RRT credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Pulmonary Rehab experience preferred.

Applicant must hold a current State of Illinois licensure and BLS, ACLS/CPR certifications. Responsible for performing all acute, critical emergencies, and sustaining respiratory care procedures for patients of all ages. Experience with pulmonary function testing and 24 hr. holter monitoring preferred but not required.

Responsible for performing all duties of respiratory care for patients of all ages under the guidance of a physician.

Utilizes patient assessment and therapeutic skill to provide respiratory services in accordance to practices and standards, according to policies and procedures.


High School Diploma

Graduate from an AMA credentialed respiratory therapy program

Current Illinois State Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

Good oral and written communication skill

Basic computer skill with Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, EMR, etc…

Demonstrate the ability to assess, collect, and interpret appropriate data needed to identify the patient’s needs relative to age specific responses and communicate such information to patient care team.

BLS/CPR and ACLS certified

or willing to obtain ACLS certification upon hire.

Physical demands:
Able to transport patients with help of equipment and or co-worker.

Able to perform CPR and respond to emergency situations

Able to perform all duties, including but not limited to, chest physiotherapy, auscultation of breath sounds, assess patient condition, aerosol treatments and all other duties of a respiratory therapist.

Assist nursing units when needs arise (ADL’s, ambulation, vital signs, etc., as long as competencies have been established.

May work in patient care areas with potential exposure to disease and blood borne pathogens through daily contact with patients. Susceptible to cuts, needle sticks, infections and exposure to nocuous aerosols while performing duties if proper steps are not taken to ensure safety. Adherence to safety procedures to minimize risks is mandatory.
