We are seeking a local delivery driver who would like to make local deliveries to homecare patients.

The Respiratory Services Technician is responsible for the delivery, set-up and pick up of DME equipment, oxygen products, and supplies to patients/clients and nursing facilities/customers within a specified area. CDL is preferred, but not required. Assistance is provided to obtain and pay for a commercial driver’s license for applicable positions.

Responsibilities include,but are not limited to:

  • Abides by all DOT and FDA regulations as they pertain to the business.
  • Pulls or assists in pulling equipment and supplies from the warehouse as prescribed on patient/client delivery tickets.
  • Loads equipment on trucks, including both equipment to be delivered that day and established par levels of extra equipment, oxygen systems, and related supplies.
  • Plans daily route to ensure the most efficient use of time and drives delivery vehicles on the pre-planned route.
  • Delivers and pickups durable medical equipment, oxygen, and supplies to and from home care patients and clients in a timely manner.
  • Instructs patients/clients in the proper use and care of the ordered equipment according to the written policies and procedures for that equipment.
  • Works with patients/clients to solve a variety of problems, thereby acting as a company field representative.
  • Picks up equipment as directed and prescribed on patient/client delivery tickets.
  • Unloads returned equipment according to policies in the proper locations and from the proper dock doors at the warehouse facility.
  • Completes delivery and pickup paperwork promptly and accurately and submits completed paperwork to the appropriate facility personnel.
  • Completes FDA paperwork promptly and accurately and submits completed paperwork to the appropriate facility personnel.
  • Maintains delivery vehicles in accordance with all applicable DOT, company rules and regulations or other applicable rules and regulations.
  • Assures that delivery vehicle is secure and locked at all times when away from the vehicle.
  • Checks vehicle before, during, and after operation to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damages to the vehicle according to company policies and procedures.
  • Assists in keeping all appropriate service records accurate and current.
  • Takes “on call” time on a predetermined, rotating basis.
  • Assists in maintaining the warehouse area in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Completes TB testing annually as required by OSHA in a timely manner.
  • Represents the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Promotes a sense of teamwork and cooperation among employees and management.
  • Provides positive customer service in order to maintain the highest degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains a neat, clean personal appearance.
  • Attends company/company sponsored in-services, training and seminars as required.
  • Performs assigned duties and monitors written and oral information to maintain sound privacy and security practices and prevent privacy or security breaches in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1993 (“HIPAA”).

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Excellent driving record

  • Clean and neat in personal appearance
  • Excellent Customer Service skills

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Basic computer skill required, MS Office (excel), database data entry, etc.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Commercial Driver’s License with hazmat and tanker endorsement is preferred, but not required..

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Must be willing to work in all climate changes and customer’s personal residence and/or long-term care facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequently required to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Frequently required push/pull up to 170 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to carry/lift up to 170 lbs.
  • Consistently works in outside weather conditions, including during inclement weather conditions.
