The Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics at Old Dominion University seeks an outstanding research assistant to work with a team of biologists and engineers. The position is available in Dr. Richard Heller’s lab and is supported by NIH. Individual will be working on projects related to gene transfer. The position requires at least 1 year of experience in general laboratory techniques (mammalian cell culture, biochemistry, preparation and handling of buffers and biological samples). Experience in fluorescent microscopy, gene transfer and metabolic assays is preferred. The research assistant will work with the PI and other personnel in various tasks as required for research, including but not limited to preparation of experiments and data analyses, and participation in research using translational or preclinical models. B.S. in biology or related discipline and a minimum of one year of lab expertise are required. M.S. preferred. The position is for one year, available immediately, and renewable thereafter subject to funds availability.
