The Regional Payer Sales representative is responsible for procuring major payer contracts for MAP technology solutions within a defined geographic territory and managing the sales cycle and implementation process. Under direction from the VP of Payer Sales, leads the development of local and regional payer strategies, fosters strong relations with payer partners, identifies opportunities for new products and services, articulates short and long term goals with all key stakeholders and develops related tactical plans to ensure success.


  • Sells MAP Value-Proposition (software/reporting solutions) in Behavior Health to payer partners
  • Develops and implements contract/negotiation strategies with key payer targets in alignment with MAP goals
  • Manages a complex sales cycle and long-term project oversight
  • Establishes annual payer sales targets under the direction of his/her VP
  • Presents to key payer stakeholders a high-level and complex technology solution / proposition
  • Manages and reports sales forecasting using internal tools –
  • Builds and nurtures payer (and provider) relationships to achieve business goals
  • Supports national payer implementation strategies for his/her assigned geographic region
  • Works closely with MAP IT Engineering team to ensure appropriate software tools and technology to meet our value proposition


  • Attends industry trade shows/events as required
  • Submits travel and expense reports in a timely manner or per MAP policy

Supervisory Duties: No


  • Minimum 5-7 Years of direct Payer Contracting and/or Network experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Key Payer relationships within his/her defined geographic territory
  • Understanding of value-based or accountable care contracting models
  • Extensive experience with commercial payer community and understanding of the competitive landscape
  • Excellent relationship building skills with consultative selling expertise
  • Strong verbal and communication skills and enthusiastic team-player
  • Grasps the complexities of software product, internal processes and client needs
  • Keen ability to manage lead qualifications and opportunity development under strictest of priorities
  • Knowledge and experience with CRM software and common computer applications, i.e. PPT,

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software or Population Health Mgmt experience with payers
  • More direct to Payer selling expertise over current Managed Care contract management experience
  • Behavioral Health experience


  • The employee will work in a remote office environment with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to approximately 10 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
  • Employee may be required to travel to meet payer sales goals and expectations (roughly 30%)
