Receptionist/ Front office for Home Health Agency job – BrightStar Care – San Antonio – San Antonio, TX


Assist in running, organizing and maintaining the front desk of a Home Health Agency. Handling

paperwork, answering phones and inputting data into a computer. Responsible for keeping, updating

and maintaining records by getting the appropriate information from both patients and employees.

Duties include:

  • Experience as a receptionist, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Warm outgoing personality
  • Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds
  • Excellent telephone skills and etiquette
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently
  • Must have computer knowledge, Microsoft Excel, and Word experience a must, 35 WPM
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Oversee referral intake process
  • Responsible for maintaining document/MD log
  • Over all faxes communications
  • Create and help maintain client information
  • Manage and maintaining all employees files
  • Gathering required background information and paperwork (i.e. 1-9’s, tax documents,

references, background checks, etc.) and scanning of documents into online employee records

  • Scheduling initial interviews and completing related orientation paperwork (i.e. interview


  • Monitoring employee compliance process to ensure any new employees placed at a customer are

100% compliant

  • Continual monitoring applicant status (i.e. active, pending, inactive, etc.)
  • Maintaining licensing certifications to ensure that all active employee certifications are in

compliance with state and federal requirements

  • Gathering feedback on employee performance and customer satisfaction
  • Greet patients and agency visitors; direct all people to the appropriate services; be
  • courteous, polite and helpful to the public and clients at all times when representing


  • Respect and maintain privacy and dignity of agency clients; assure client confidentiality at


  • times
  • Provide efficient and professional telephone services; transfer calls according to

established protocols

  • Assist employees/patients in accurately completing appropriate forms, and document all

information according to Brightstar protocols

  • Communicate with referrals sources to complete all required documents
  • Maintain and report statistics for referrals and approvals
  • Maintain forms and office supplies required for front desk activitie
  • Secure the building at the close of each working day; turn off or unplug appliances and

machines according to agency protocols and lock all entrances

  • Assure the readiness of the reception area for each working day; open the office at the

designated time and have all front desk activities fully operational at the start of business hours

  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Good computer skills (Internet and Word essential, Excel preferred). Requires familiarity with

standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.


Excellent phone voice – must be able to hear a smile. Ability to write routine reports and

correspondence as required by BrightStar guidelines as well as the ability to respond

professionally and appropriately on behalf of BrightStar.


Must be highly motivated, a self-starter and capable of working autonomously. Strong organization

and problem-solving skills. Requires the ability to prioritize complete work on time, be

detail-oriented, exhibit a service orientation to clients and be team player with a positive

attitude. Requires solid organizational skills, thoroughness and multi-tasking.

Requires good interpersonal skills and exhibit a service orientation towards others. Must have the

ability to demonstrate solid judgment about patient care. Must also demonstrate a sense of

understanding and urgency for priorities. Requires the ability to appropriately troubleshoot and

escalate where necessary.
