Program Managers are responsible for the cost, schedule and performance of a program or function or collection of programs or functions at one or more company or customer locations. Program Managers direct the efforts of administrative and professional staff in carrying out the tasks necessary to meet program milestones. Program Managers manage people and other resources to accomplish the tasks necessary to complete the program, project or function on time and within the specified cost parameters. Program Managers identify potential risks which might disrupt or delay performance or increase costs, develop and implement sound risk mitigation strategies, and monitor overall risk levels. Program Managers communicate orally and in writing with all levels of company and customer staff and management, preparing and delivering high quality oral presentations and briefings and clear, concise and accurate written reports. Program Managers participate in or lead various performance improvement programs and initiatives consistent with the customer’s objectives.
Provide SME support to the Mission Planning System Division and the Mobility Air Force Branch. The Mission Planning Systems (MPS) program is a collaborative program with the Army and Navy to leverage technical solutions and business practices for all Department of Defense (DoD) platforms. It provides automated mission planning tools and support for fixed- and rotary wing aircraft and guided munitions. The primary focus for this position is to support the MAF Platforms including the Tankers and Transport Aircraft, Special Mission Aircraft, and the E8. Programs include the ACAT III SMACC, MAFPS and KC-46 and the Mission Planning Increment 5 ACAT I effort.
The MAF SME is responsible for providing direct expertise for the defined AF mission as well as generalized expertise in the following categories:
Provides program and acquisition management support to include, but not limited to, guidance and expertise necessary to apply principles, criteria, and procedures of DoD Directive 5000.1, DoDI 5000.2, and other DoD, AF, AFMC, and ESC instructions, directives, regulations, and guidance documents on system acquisition as applicable.
