POSITION SUMMARY

IREX seeks a Program Associate for the Information & Media Practice to provide support for its projects. The Program Associate will be expected to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week).

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide administrative, logistical, and financial management support to media programs;

Coordinate between headquarters and field staff to implement program activities and to collect information about activities implemented in the field;

Assist with research and/or writing summaries of project activities and results including quarterly and other program reports for funding agencies;

Draft meeting reports, correspondence, and other documents;

Assist in event planning and coordination;

Coordinate travel arrangements and expense reporting for reconciliation and reimbursement;

Track and analyze financial data including program expenditures, program budgets, and grantee and vendor payments;

Assist with programmatic and financial review of sub-grantee activities, and ensure compliance with donor and IREX requirements;

Process payments according to IREX procedures;

Track work plan activity progress toward project objectives and/or track project indicator data;

Support research and development for proposals, and other tasks as deemed necessary for new business development;

Other administrative and programmatic duties, as needed.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in international development, international relations or a related field;

Experience managing administrative tasks required;

Knowledge of and experience with project design and grant management preferred, including procurement;

Past experience with U.S. government funders preferable;

Knowledge of project finance and budgeting practices;

Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task, and ability to work under and adhere to tight deadlines;

Excellent computer skills, including using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe;

Ability to communicate at all levels with internal/external clients by phone, email, and face to face;

A positive attitude with good presentation and writing skills;

Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team; must be a team player and demonstrate a sense of responsibility and sensitivity in dealing with diverse audiences;

International study, work, or living experience preferred;

Proficient English required.
