Production Eqpt Opr 1 (temp) job – Teledyne Relays – Hawthorne, CA

Teledyne Relays (a business unit of Teledyne Technologies, Inc.), employing about 500 associates, manufacturing Electromechanical/Solid State Relays and Power Controllers, High Power Coax Switches and RF Switching Systems. The primary manufacturing facilities are located in the United States and Mexico. We are a vertically orientated manufacturing and design company with major operations in Southern California.

Teledyne Relays is searching for the temporary assistance of a Production Equipment Operator 1 for its Automatics Department.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:
Responsible for operating various automatic and semi-automatic machinery.

Will need to perform quality inspections and quantity of parts produced, may also need to package parts.

Be open to learning and acquiring job skills through continual cross-training of all/any departmental equipment as needed, while following Company policies, rules/regulations and safety procedures.

Maintain updated paperwork per specifications and check for in service calibration tags for all tooling and equipment being utilized.

Keep work area clean, organized and maintain proper storage of tools.

Other duties as assigned by Lead/Supervisor.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); vocational school training acceptable.

6 months to 1 year of previous related experience is preferred.

Candidate must be able to work with a microscope, small hand tools, have good manual dexterity and good hand/eye/tool coordination.

Must be familiar with and have basic computer skills to be able to make data entries on a daily basis for labor hours and for inventory control.

Be cross-trained on equipment as needed, and continue to build knowledge, skills and abilities throughout the department.

Must be able to work as a team as well as independently.

Must have good oral and written communication skills, and know basic math.

Be able to interpret instructions provided orally or written via diagram or schedule form

Candidate will occasionally stand, walk, stoop, bend, knee, crouch; be able to distinguish colors, be able to lift and carry 10-24 lbs; be exposed to vapors, airborne particles, toxic chemical (safely below occupational exposure limits).

Candidate will frequently need to hear to listen or talk to ask questions or provide feedback

Candidate will continously need to sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms; be required to use close vision, have the ability to adjust focus and determine depth; work near moving mechanical parts and their noise or be in contact with moving mechanical equipment
