$40,000 – $65,000 a year

  • Provide whole group, small group and individualized instruction with high academic expectations and implement teaching strategies that are challenging and yet nurturing.
  • Collaborate with co-workers to develop and implement school goals, budget, curriculum, lesson plans, field trips, celebrations, progress reports & positive behavior management strategies.
  • Collaborate weekly with other Pre-K and K teachers to prepare written lesson plans and worksheets or handouts that are consistent and support the prescribed curriculum and the Common Core Standards.
  • Provide regular communications to parents through weekly paper and email newsletter.
  • Maintain professional appearance, promote high moral values, and citizenship.
  • Actively engage your educational assistant, parents and other volunteers with instructional activities.
  • Share the coordination of before or after school activities and student supervision, as well as participation in 2 evening musicals and after school family conferences.
  • Meet with parents before or after regular school hours to discuss curriculum in September and student progress in November. Periodically meet with families of prospective students during prep time or after school. Other phone or face to face conferences may be necessary and scheduled at your discretion.
  • Prepare a professional development plan and fulfill requirements set forth.
  • Maintain first aid / CPR certificate. and WA. State teaching credential.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, happy and healthful classroom environment.
  • Start time 8:00AM, End time 3:15PM. Student contact hours, 8:30AM-2:40PM, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Staff Meetings to be scheduled from 3:15-3:50PM, once a week included in salary.
  • The prospective candidate must have the following qualifications.
  • Successful early childhood / elementary Ed degree / training/work experience.
  • Commitment to continued learning and professional growth.
  • Current WA State Teaching Certificate and first aid / CPR certification
