The Operation Safety Net Peer Support Worker completes community outreach and engages chronically homeless consumers in a variety of activities and supportive services. They apply the recovery principles in assisting consumers with engagement, awareness, support, and community integration skills. The focus of the Peer Support Worker is on consumer engagement, providing hopeful information about recovery, housing first options and resources, and wellness. The Peer Support Worker will serve as a critical member of an integrated treatment team approach with both internal and external providers.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Equivalency and 1 year of related or personal Mental health experience. Computer skills are preferred. State peer specialist certification preferred or is willing to become certified within a year (at PMHS expense). Personal experience(s) with or familiarity with homelessness is preferred.
20 hours work week; primarily Monday through Friday, hours to be determined, with flexibility to meet program needs.
