Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc. is currently seeking a Part-time Paralegal for their Health Promotion and Wellness Division (HPW). The part-time Civil Legal Representation (CLR) project paralegal will work 20 hours a week and be able to demonstrate expertise in providing legal assistance and support to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, and/or stalking in the Latino and immigrant communities. The qualified candidate must complete the agency’s mandatory 40 hours of training in connection with domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. Candidate will also be adept at providing administrative assistance to CLR project attorney, including conducting client intakes, managing client database, case managing with attorney, preparing court documents, and monitoring referrals. Additional training on evidence-based risk factors for domestic violence and dating violence homicide is mandatory. All CLR project staff must participate fully in all project evaluations and site visits undertaken by PCADV and/or DPW.
The Paralegal will have internal contacts with the entire administrative staff and external contact with clients, community resources, and the community. This position has access to sensitive Congreso information and is expected to handle such information with integrity and professionalism. This position has regular contact with members of the community and is expected to represent Congreso in a professional manner.
The Part Time Paralegal will report directly to the CLR Project Staff Attorney and participate in department activities as necessary.
