Reporting to the Clinical Director of Oncology, the Oncology Nursing Manger will coordinate and oversee a large outpatient chemotherapy / biotherapy and radiation oncology unit. Hosting over 50 chairs in total, at 5 locations, this is one of the busiest ambulatory cancer infusion programs in the region. A dedication to oncology medicine will go a long way in establishing your ability to managing this 40+ FTE department that includes Certified OCN Oncology Nurse Supervisors, ONS Biotherapy and Chemotherapy Certified Registered Nurses, and cancer center support staff.
As with any Clinical Nursing Manager position, the Manager of Oncology Services should be an expert in building relationships and savvy in understanding the financial aspects of patient care. You will regularly interact with over two dozen Oncologists who specialize in a full offering of services which range from cancer diagnosis and treatment, to clinical trials and research, to survivorship counseling and community support. A strong background in oncology nursing and a penchant for educating will very helpful in establishing yourself as a subject matter expert.
