Required Skills and Qualifications
Nursing Assistant training or current enrollment in nursing program or Acute Care Nursing Assistant Class or 2 semesters of nursing school
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
Six months recent experience as a Nursing Assistant in an Acute Care hospital
Experience with direct patient care with activities of daily living, mobilization, transfers, hygiene needs, vital signs, EKGs, patient rounding, measuring and documenting intake/output.
Ability to read and write English
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
One year recent experience in an Acute Care hospital
The Nursing Assistant will work as a part of the health care team to provide, nurse support, optimal patient care and outcomes.
5 East IMCU-DOU2 is a 44 bed unit at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center. This unit focuses on a wide variety of cardiac patients. Patient population includes cardiac pre and post open heart surgery, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, chest pain, unstable angina, vents, cath lab, angioplasty, hypertension, diabetes, renal failure, stroke. This unit features teamwork and enjoys strong positive working relationship with interdisciplinary team.
