Acts as a physician extender, providing primary healthcare and patient care management. Collaborates work efforts with the clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow. Interacts with outside healthcare facilities and agencies involving patient care and insurance. Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED with completion of Medical Assistant’s course. Will consider student from a Nursing School Program after clinical course study has begun. Minimum Work Experience: Six to twelve months of clinical experience in a Nursing Program or as a Medical Assistant in a physician’s office. Certification, Licensure, and Registration: Current BCLS card or must be able to obtain within 30 days of placement.
