We are seeking a Media Supervisor/Planner to join our team in San Francisco. You must be self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This position is open to remote or relocation to our San Francisco office.
The Media Supervisor/Planner is the main point person of the tactical planning process and provides mid-level strategic recommendations to the media team. The Media Supervisor/Planner is expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media space (including digital media) and available media research. This Media Supervisor is fully engaged in the complete planning and activation process, from RFP development and plan presentation to campaign implementation and billing management.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, writing and analytical skills; have independent motivation with a willingness to learn and improve the team’s knowledge and ones own.
The Media Supervisor/Planner will assist in advising clients on best ways to integrate media into their advertising and marketing programs, as well as in growing business opportunities within current clients
Activate on brand needs for print, TV, radio, OOH, digital, and mobile media
Provide syndicated research support during development of Objectives & Strategies and plans
Writes POVs as needed and evaluate new media types/outlets
Explore media alternatives be able to determine the solution, deliver the recommendation and stand behind it
Maintains media budgets or media spend summaries by keeping abreast of all invoice, billing and delivery issues; know when to escalate discrepancies to management
Capable of supervision/managing and prioritizing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them
May oversee the work of Assistant Media Planners/Interns, ensuring that all deliverables are error free before they are submitted to Management/clients Qualifications:
Mandatory Experience Participation in at least two full planning cycles and development/implementation of at least two media plans for a vertical and niche brand/product (Finance, IT, Technology, etc)
Pharmaceutical and Healthcare experience preferred
Thorough understanding of the media process, media department and inter-department relationships
2-4 years of media planning/buying experience
Diligent delivery against strict timelines
Media vendor negotiation experience
Experience with online research tools such as Doubleclick DART, IMS, SRDS, SQAD, Nielsen, @Plan, AdRelevance, MARS, etc
Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
