Chattanooga Seating Systems is a joint venture between Magna Seating and Hollingsworth Logistics. We supply to the Chattanooga, Tennessee Volkswagen Plant and are located in their Supplier Park.

Job Introduction

To coordinate and manage the ongoing PCN process between VW and CSS. To manage all change control related activities as well as implementation and evaluation of product engineering changes and assesses and minimizes the impact to the JIT assembly process. Also to manage the supply base throughout the product phases to ensure customer deliverables are being met and are on time.

Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinate upcoming AEKO, AWE, and AWOs with supply base;
  • Coordination and leading of materials to the line for new production builds;
  • Keeping inventory and validating incoming pre-series material;
  • Organizing and segregating pre-series materials to prevent unapproved material going to the production line;
  • Development of pre-series BOM and reconciliation between CSS and VW BOMs;
  • Assistance with PO development of new material orders to the supply base;
  • Inbound and outbound logistics of all special components and completed seats to required destination;
  • Bring in customer EDI’s and PO’s. Analyze for errors and correct in conjunction with Engineering;
  • Oversee weekly customer release for issues and accuracy;
  • Administer Premium Freight tracking, and recovery chargeback process;
  • Coordination of obsolete materials;
  • Manage changes to avoid or minimize obsolescence;
  • Utilize internal systems to obtain change information;
  • Assist Program Management with timing for upcoming changes;
  • Lead internal change control meetings and follow PDP process as a guideline;
  • Responsible for tracking customer, internal, and supplier timing;
  • Maintain approvals in appropriate systems;
  • Assist Program Management with lessons learned;
  • Back up Material Planners when necessary;
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Knowledge and Education

  • University degree or College diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations Management, preferred;

Work Experience

  • 3 years prior manufacturing/industrial engineering experience preferred, ideally in the areas of automotive, high volume assembly and sequencing, fixture design, torque monitoring/control, and material handling systems

Skills and Competencies

  • Team approach to problem solving;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proven project and time management ability;
  • Computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/Project, Catia V5 R19, KVS & Agile.
