Founded in 2011, Uncharted Play creates super-efficient, multi-microgenerator energy systems that can be scaled to power large infrastructure systems such as off-grid electricity power-packs, sensors, wifi, and lighting.
These microgenerators can be found in Uncharted Play’s flagship products, the SOCCKET and PULSE, which are an energy generating soccer ball and jump rope that can be used to power small appliances after play. These products, through the company’s impact platform, promote physical activity and spread awareness about the global energy problem.
MORE (Motion-based, Off-Grid, Renewable Energy) is Uncharted Play’s proprietary technology for scalable multi-microgenerator energy systems. The building blocks of the MORE platform consist of 3 core motions for kinetic energy harnessing, combined with a specialized aggregation circuitry. MORE creates efficient energy systems that can power infrastructure and consumer goods.

As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans to support the marketing department and overall company business goals, as well as supporting the Director of Marketing in management of the department in all areas including press, events, and strategy.
Day-to-day tasks include aiding the in achievement of marketing operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations, identifying key trends, and leading market research efforts to uncover the viability of current and existing marketing efforts and advise on future ones, measuring, enhancing, and enriching the position and image of the company through various goals and objectives, and liaising with media organizations and other external agencies. We are a fast-growing startup, and as such, we challenge all of our employees to develop their entrepreneurial skills and to challenge the status quo.
Support Director of Marketing and Public Relations in planning and execution of marketing, branding & public relations objectives.
Aid in development and overseeing of the production of marketing campaigns and materials
Assist in preparation and adherence to budgets
Engage in creation and delivery of press releases, advertisements, and other marketing materials
Nurture and enrich all external perceptions of the company and growth of market share
Engage other organizations within the community for strategic marketing and brand partnerships
Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors
Aid in enforcing policy and procedures for Marketing Department set by department head
Aid in preparing forecasting requirements, budgets for each campaign, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
Assist in other department/company duties as they are assigned
Deepen relationships with all media to ensure the most effective messaging and positioning of the organization
Aid in developing a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
Create a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
Coordinate all public relations activities
Manage media inquiries and interview requests and enacted press
Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis
Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations
Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
Research, Data Monitoring, and Strategy Related:
Offer plans and suggestions to the Director of Marketing & Public Relations for future marketing initiatives based on market research/study
Analyze market trends and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback
Gather and analyze customer insight on an ongoing basis
Make calculated suggestions to the Director of Marketing & Public Relations based on data-driven analytics
Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals within the confines of department budget and timeline
Initiate market segmentation
Design and implement market research studies on an ongoing basis within the confines of department budget and timeline
Conduct statistical and data analytics on an ongoing basis within the confines of department budget and timeline
Use annual and gross-profit plans for annual sales quotas for regions, as well as projected expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products to analyze trends and results to better position microtargeting of marketing strategy
Identify marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor’s share, and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities
Ensure effective control of marketing results and that corrective action takes place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are within designated budgets
Evaluate market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
