We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Inspector for our First Quality Retail Services . This position will be located in King of Prussia, PA .

Shift 7PM-7AM on a 3-2-2 Schedule (work 3, off 2, work 2)

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Adheres to all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational policies and procedures. Must abide by all safety requirements and attain safety goals.
  • Randomly select product samples according to the inspection procedure and evaluate product quality according to established guidelines and standards.
  • Perform testing of finished goods. This may include absorbent capacity and rewet testing in addition to any other tests prescribed by the Quality Supervisor.
  • In addition to auditing product attributes, check for proper put-up and packaging of the product. This includes proper counts, packaging materials, labeling, and lot/date coding.
  • Initiate inspection reports for each product lot. Defects are reported to the machine crew and then to the Production Supervisor when deemed necessary. Auditors are also responsible for reporting to Management any other issues or discrepancies that could jeopardize customer satisfaction.
  • Help to locate and isolate any product suspected of being defective. This applies to finished goods both in Manufacturing and in the warehouse.
  • Verify that metal detectors and weights are operating properly. The frequency of these verifications will be prescribed by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Must have computer skill sets that include working with Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Input data into electronic database, creation of and working with Excel database, including input of trial and validation results, product inspection results, and information pertaining to non-conformances.
  • Ability to work with SAP software with training as needed
  • Assist in conducting line clearance checks as needed by Manufacturing and in a manner prescribed by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Must adhere to and be compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Procedures. Help to resolve and report any issues noted.
  • Complete special assignments delegated by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Supports activities as assigned in the following areas:

    • Calibration
    • Data systems maintenance
    • Quality records maintenance
    • Raw material approval & release
    • Labeling/packaging approval & release
    • Verification of corrective actions
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

  • High school graduate or equivalent and a minimum of one year of experience in quality inspection practices. The experience requirement may be waived with specialized training.
  • Solid computer skills required as applicable to quality control inspection in a manufacturing environment. Statistical skills a plus.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Good oral and written skills. Must be able to speak, read and write the English language and perform basic mathematical skills. Must be able to pass minimum required standard on all competency tests.
