Mission:
Support the development of the Site’s safety culture and HSE management systems to improve overall safety performance, meet annual safety targets and assure successful HSE performance in all third party audit (e.g. ISO, OHSAS, Third party compliance, Group HSE Standards Compliance and Regulatory Inspections/Audits).

Key Accountabilities:
Implements and oversees the Sanofi Pasteur Swiftwater HSE programs at the facility. Acts as a program and project liaison between platforms and HSE Department. Tracks Health Safety and Environmental compliance, monitors performance and trends, and facilitates corrective actions as required. Serves as a technical resource and system champion for Health Safety and Environmental management systems, best practices and technology transfer. Provides training as needed to coordinate platform implementation of HSE programs.

Support the site’s HSE Management System including CAPA tracking and closure management (Trackwise), Safety Program Document development and management (eDoc), Develop the HSE incident investigatio n and LEX program, conduct HSE inspections and correcting the issues identified during inspections, support the site wide annual safety risk mapping and PASS Plan development. Develop and implement Safety Training. Support the HSE Correspondent program and support site wide HSE Safety Committees.

Acts as platform HSE network leader and participates as an extended member of the leadership team associated with the platform. Assures HSE programs meet regulatory requirements and alignment of HSE strategies to the customer needs. Assures that all programs meet site standards. Anticipates future trends and impacts of program implementations.

May participate in, support, and/or monitor, the following platform Unit business activities: HSE Correspondent liaison, Incident Investigations, IH monitoring studies, HAZOP, PSSR, Biosafety Risk Assessments, Ergonomics, Environmental initiatives, HSE PASS Planning, Dashboards. Communicates back to HSE team on current business and HSE related activities to the HSE department. Provides localized support to various programs aligned with the platform such as but not limited to Change Control, SOPs, SWIs, Training, focus factory projects Risk Maps. Trackwise etc.

Provide technical guidance, advice and consultation to site(s) to ensure compliance with existing regulatory and site HSE requirements. Develop strategies and ensure implementation to meet applicable site, Corporate and regulatory requirements.

Serves as key client contact for the Bacterial Platform supporting Annual risk review, PASS Plan development, incident investigations, HSE training, routine HSE Communications, capital project reviews and coordination of reviews and participation in routine business and Safety Committee meetings.

Responsible for Swiftwater facility and operations

Key Dimensions:
Ensure compliance – Results on regulatory, Corporate and Management Systems audits will a key measure of success. Safety performance (TRI Rate and Leading indicator performance). CAPA Closure, HSE Document management and training delivery. Successful systems operation and implementation.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS in Sciences, with a focus in, Health, Safety, Environment Sciences.

A minimum of 8 years of experience in Safety and Environment experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech industries

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge working with LEAN/Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives

Knowledge of Life Safety, Biosafety, OSHA, EPA, DEP, CDC, WHO and other regulatory requirements
