To provide basic mechanical and electrical maintenance practices to perform duties such as tear downs, rebuilds, troubleshooting and design of new equipment.

(Listed in order or importance and/or frequency)

Provide basic mechanical and electrical maintenance duties requiring the utilization of current maintenance practices.

Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical maintenance on all production equipment including ovens, formax’s freezers, grinders and all other manufacturing systems plant wide.

Work on project type work that may include welding and fabrication.

Be able to read manuals and blue prints.

Work daily with the manufacturing personnel to help with startup and training of operators.

Be able to trouble shoot from electrical prints with PLC experience.

Review the machine guarding on a daily basis and make sure the equipment is being used properly.

Maintain a clean work area and help clean the maintenance shop on a rotation basis.

Help train the new level one mechanics as needed.

In the event of absence the next level down the organizational chart covers for the next level up.

Employee has an individual responsibility to report all possible deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety.

Employee is to adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.

Ability to work in any hostile or extreme environment.

Ability to lift weights of up to 100 pounds.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Knowledge of GMP’s food safety policies.

Excellent attendance record.

Excellent work record.

Be able to furnish own tools.

High school education or equivalent; two (2) year vocational or specialized maintenance training preferred.

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years previous experience in maintenance.

Time expected to attain production standards and learn to perform the work effectively in five (5) years.
