Laboratory Assistant I job – The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine – Fort Belvoir, VA

are to provide routine semi-technical work involving a variety of laboratory support duties at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. Work involves performance of a variety of laboratory tasks of minimal complexity to assist in the maintenance and operation of a research study on military personnel.


1. Assists in assembling equipment and in preparing materials for experiments.

2. Assists in application and cleaning of electrode cap.

3. Assists in keeping inventory of laboratory supplies.

4. Assists in conducting semi-routine experiments, data processing and analysis.

5. Assists in scheduling participants in the study.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and supplies; ability to follow detailed instructions; ability to handle multiple tasks.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:
High School graduate, college level course work in psychology or neuroscience preferred.

Minimum Experience:
0 to 2 years of laboratory experience

Physical Capabilities:
Requires manual dexterity for application and cleaning of electrode cap.

Required Licenses, Certification or Registration:
Military base access is a plus.

Work Environment:
Hospital environment

This position requires U.S. citizenship and eligibitlity to receive a Secret clearance.
