A day in the life of an Inventory Control Team Lead

Reporting directly to the Inventory Control DC Supervisor, and working closely with the inventory control and warehouse teams. This individual will play a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy of the DC inventory. The Inventory Control Team Lead will be responsible for leading by example with the inventory control duties. This individual will be responsible for delegating daily tasks, monitoring tasks, and problem solving. 25% of the day will be spend on the computer, utilizing excel for analysis and inventory balancing between systems.

The fine print

Ensure Inventory Control department functions are completed accurately and in a timely fashion

Review Results of daily Cycle Counts, Outbound Audit, Inbound Audits

Monitor team work hours and productivity, limit overtime and downtime

Coach and develop associates in department

One on ones with each team member

Help develop skills, computer, effective counting

Interaction with associate daily to be aware of constraints

Utilize and build upon current processes to increase productivity and efficiency

Seek to find new areas of involvement within the DC to improve over DC accuracy

Work with Inventory Control Associatest to ensure tasks follow SOX(s) guidelines

Reports – weekly status update of team activities, productivity and projects

Intermediate computer skills with strong understanding of Microsoft office (pivot tables, vlook ups)

Forklift certified or willingness to become certified to operate forklifts would be an advantage
