We are in need of an Intelligence Analyst who is keenly aware of geopolitical risks; capable of briefing business areas and security teams on those risks and how they might impact their global operations. The IA produces real-time notifications, safety and security recommendations, as well as comprehensive analytical reports to inform and mitigate risks.
The IA will interact daily with the Business Resilience team and assist in the development of multiple Destination Threat Assessments. As an embedded team member, the IA will become critical to threat assessment security operations for the business areas and overall global expansion for ViaSat Inc.
Systemically monitor online open sources, media channels and paid subscription intelligence sources for potential and known threats.
Conduct exhaustive research on destinations identifying all known man-made and natural risks for the safety and resilience of the business areas staff, organization and activity.
Assist the development of new intelligence products that tailor to needs of the business area and help maintain business and security continuity.
As appropriate, analyze risks and provide recommendations to help mitigate identified risks.
Travel & Incident Management
Perform research and generate reports regarding international security risks and challenges, such as crime, terrorism, espionage, customs/immigration, public health, information security, weather, government corruption, poor infrastructure.
Conduct research on international locations where business areas and their employees may visit. This information may include the location and contact information for U.S. Embassies or Consulates, hospitals and emergency services, hotel details, local customs and courtesies, and transportation best practices.
Monitor international locations that are currently being visited by clients and their employees. Notify relevant decision makers of incidents or trends that may increase the risk of operating in these locations.
Collaborates with Industry Security Advisory Committee Counterintelligence subcommittee team during monthly meetings
Supports CI plan with industry peers to gather and share pertinent threat information.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Foreign Policy, Political Science, International Affairs, or related field
Demonstrated exceptional results in an intelligence, investigative, or research-based role
Familiarity with incident monitoring platforms, mapping software, social media resources, and intel databases
Experienced in the various formats, styles, and techniques of all-source report writing and publication in accordance with intelligence community and agency standards
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; candidate must be able to present and deliver products to diverse audiences when necessary
Keen interest in international affairs and global security
US citizenship required
Able to commit to a 10-12 week internship
Experience as an analyst in military intelligence, a civilian intelligence agency, or government organization
Experienced with the collection process and data structure, and all source analysis of at least one intelligence collection discipline (HUMINT, SIGINT, MASINT or IMINT) including its requirements/tasking process, collection platforms and its POC’s within the community of interest preferred.
