Human Resources Manager – Fitch – Columbus, OH

Support Human Resources by doing special projects and assisting with general administration regarding benefits, payroll, training and development , legal compliance, and other human resource issues.

Key Responsibilities:
Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel and recommendations; analyzing and advising on potential risk and reward.

Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

Coach and guide management on productive employee-supervisory relationship conduct, constructive problem-solving, building performance plans, disciplining non-performance, and employee exit activities.

Collaborate with supervisors and leadership team to deliver employee recognition programs and team building activities

Providing support to the Director of HR by supporting recruitment activities across North America

Internet sourcing (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc) of candidates, screening resumes for relevant industry experience

Assist the Director of HR in conducting initial phone screens and scheduling onsite interviews

Build an effective candidate database and work proactively to build strong and professional two-way communication with candidates

Completing background and reference checks as appropriate

Attending job fairs and community outreach events, and investigating new sourcing channels

Administer a variety of human resources programs maintaining ongoing compliance

Develop and maintain the Employee Handbook, forms, templates, written instructions, policies and procedures used to implement human resources programs throughout the organization.

Develop and administer the job description, job classification, FLSA, and compensation and independent contractor programs in support of management and within legal compliance.

Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.

Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions

Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.

Introduction of process improvement ideas to HR, including organization of Human Resources hard files and electronic files.

Organize and coordinate the onboarding and induction progress

Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.

Assists HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects.

Other duties as assigned

Professional and Technical Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years HR or Recruiting experience

Significant proven experience and competency in performing the full range of human resources activities with strengths in recruitment, organizational development, supervisory coaching, building company culture, managing staff/performance.

Certification as Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or equivalent, and above highly desirable.

Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, Business, or a related field

Previous experience with behavioral interviewing

Experience with candidate tracking database (i.e. Taleo), Excel, Internet, and other recruitment and HR technologies

Requires demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills

Requires demonstrated success in leading the work of others and collaborating cross-functionally to meet deadlines, manage projects, and execute a wide range of human resources activities.
