How To Mute Keywords And Filter Eggs On Twitter

Twitter has long had an abuse problem. Anytime something remotely controversial starts to trend, dozens of new accounts aka ‘Egg accounts’ or ‘eggs’ pop up. They don’t contribute much to any conversation and are more or less trolls. Then there are legitimate accounts that behave like trolls. Over the past years, this has become a serious problem for the company and those who use Twitter. To fight this, Twitter has introduced muting features and filters. You can mute tweets and accounts that send tweets  containing certain words from appearing. Likewise, you can filter out notifications from eggs i.e., accounts that have the default egg profile photo. Here’s how you can mute keywords and filter eggs on Twitter.
