How To Add Google Docs And Google Calendar In Your Gmail Account

Do you use Google Docs and Calendar frequently? Now you can integrate them in your Gmail account. They are now available in the Gmail Labs, but are disabled as default. You simply need to enable them to view them in the left sidebar of your Gmail homepage.

To enable them follow these simple steps,

Open your Gmail account, and go to Settings and click on Labs as shown in the screenshot below.

For those who don’t know what is Gmail Labs, it is a testing ground where Gmail development team add all experimental features.

In the Google’s own words,

Gmail engineers come up with new ideas all the time. Gmail Labs is our place to try them out and get your feedback. None of these features are really ready for prime time yet, so they may change, break or disappear at any time.

Now since you are inside Labs, you will see handful of Gadgets that you might want to try. Navigate all the way down and you will find both Google Docs and Calendar gadgets, enable them as shown in the screenshot below and click Save Changes.

Once you are done, your Gmail will load again, and once the loading is complete you will find both Google Calendar and Docs widgets in your left sidebar as shown in the screenshot below.

You will also now notice that there is a small green Gmail Labs logo before Settings, next time you want to go to Gmail Labs simply click on this green flask logo and you will be taken direct to Gmail Labs.

You can now try Gadgets from Gmail Lab more easily.
