This position requires a philosophy that cooking from scratch is paramount and customer service is of utmost importance. Preparations of all techniques are to be used and cook restaurant quality food for a mass audience.
The applicant’s availability is to be flexible(nights and weekends) with hours as schedule could change.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to following standard preparation procedures, safety and sanitation procedures, and proper cooking techniques such as steam, grill, sauté, broil, fry, braise, smoke, and poach. Chef needs to be able to multitask and follow direct orders given from the executive chef. Proper set up preparation and cleaning standards are to be followed. Chef needs knowledge of servsafe guidelines.
Various duties include but not limited to: proper knife work, working with various kitchen equipment such as slicer, buffalo chopper, steam jacket and kettle, ovens, flat top, grill, griddle, fryolater, smoker, stand mixers, immersion blenders, etc., sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, compost, and recyclables, putting products away properly according to state and federal regulations.
Previous experience working in the food industry required of at least 2 years. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
