Health Data Analyst (SPSS) job – Telligen – Des Moines, IA

This position is responsible for planning, designing and performing analysis of health care activities and projects. The incumbent will assist in developing optimal methodologies for presenting the results of the analysis, including pattern analysis. Tools used include: SPSS, SQL, Access, and Excel.

Essential Functions:

Assists team members in planning, designing and performing data and pattern analysis of specific health care activities or projects. May provide statistical and data analysis training and consultation to team members and committees.

Researches and assists in the development of optimal methods of presentation of results. Ensures information is presented in a professional and understandable manner.

Generates periodic reports for clients and management, which include reports on project results. May conduct presentations related to project findings to medical societies, physicians, providers or other health care professionals.

Stays abreast of statistical technology and methods. Evaluates various software to determine the most appropriate to use in project analysis and makes recommendations to management for improvements.

Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Four year degree in statistics, mathematics or related field and/or equivalent training and/or experience.

At least one year of experience with: SPSS (or similar), SQL, MS Excel, and MS Access.

One year of experience analyzing large data sets consisting of at least one million records.

Additional Comments:

Experience in health care analysis preferred.

15% local and overnight travel.
