Job Summary :
The 3M Personal Safety Division is a leading supplier of safety and protection solutions and one of the marquis businesses in 3M. The person hired for the position of Global Content Development Manager will be responsible for Content Development, Branding, Public Relations and Insights. Reporting to the division’s Chief Marketing Officer, you will lead a team that develops and deploys global content development and brand strategies by using a deep understanding of the business, product, customer, distribution channel and competitors while applying your perspective and expertise in marketing communications. You will partner with product marketing, segment marketing, corporate marketing, sales, and digital marketing to introduce new products and drive the development of global marketing and brand campaigns. Your efforts will be used by subsidiary marketing teams to drive their demand generation and awareness plans.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned, progressive marketing communications professional with expert capabilities in Content Marketing, Brand Management, and organizational leadership. We’re looking for a person who is collaborative, a great communicator, is passionate about creative, and can perform in a fast-paced, results driven environment.

Primary Responsibilities included but are not limited to the following:

Create content development strategies and plans to support new product launches, marketing campaigns, and brand initiatives

Execute content development plans in conjunction with business teams, global digital marketing, subsidiaries and corporate groups

Manage the overall Divisional brand platform including sub brands. Conduct research, develop messaging, and generate brand guidelines. Ensure global brand consistency and provide brand training to employees and agencies

Ensure all content is aligned to corporate and divisional brand/identity standards

Track, measure, and analyze all initiatives for ROI. Establish closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine our process to convert customers

Lead Divisional insight activities. Leverage research insights to inform and support the overall business

Plan and direct public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image. Work with the corporate PR team to respond to external inquiries

Manage the organization to the meet the needs of the business. Develop, coach, and lead direct reports. Recruit new team members

Drive marketing excellence globally via influence, training and measurement

Research external and internal marketing best practices; utilize these learnings with the global marketing organization

Select and manage suppliers

Manage relevant portion of marketing budget to agreed-upon targets

Oversee the approval process to ensure communications materials meet regulatory and legal compliance requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Marketing Communications including brand

Experience managing a Marketing Communications team

Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or Master’s degree in marketing

Proven experience in a broad array of marketing communications processes and tools

Brand Management

Public Relations

Content Marketing

Social- e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

Email marketing

Program calendaring

Marketing Automation- e.g. Eloqua

Customer journey mapping

Content creation and publishing

Content marketing software- e.g. Compendium

Experience in developing and improving business processes

Experience in conducting customer insight research and applying the results to effective programs

Broad knowledge on B to B marketing

Demonstrated leadership and working knowledge of new product commercialization

Ability to engage and influence the organization

Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Ability to understand and apply analytical and statistics tools

Well organized self-starter who can effectively work in a fast paced environment; and work through and manage change/ambiguity, with an appropriate sense of urgency

Location : Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 25%- domestic and international

Relocation: Is authorized
