As our Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will assist the Banquet Manager and Restaurant Manager in the overall management of the food and beverage outlets and events.

What you can help us do: The position is responsible for the daily operations of Banquet and Restaurant departments.

Your every day:

  • Communicates with Culinary and Sales/Catering/Convention Services on such items as serving arrangements, times, counts and additional employees and equipment needed for buffets or table service.
  • Ensures meeting space is clean, set-up and prepared for client arrival.
  • Ensures that Millennium service standards are adhered.
  • Requisitions china, glassware, silverware and any items used on a buffet and in service.
  • Ensures that captain’s report is complete for every function.
  • Ensures a high standard of food presentation and that it is presented in a timely manner.
  • Recommends and coordinates the set-up of the meeting room based on the number of participants and program.
  • Meet and greet clients and verify details (counts, room set, AV, assistance etc.).
  • Arranges for cleaning of rooms after use.
  • Oversees training of new employees.
  • Assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote efficiency of operations.
  • Supervises serving of meals and beverages to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Inspects food and beverage areas and equipment to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions.
  • Assist in requisitioning liquor to maintain par levels and to maintain quality.
  • Assist in preparing work schedules and assist in evaluating work performance of employees and administering discipline as needed.
  • Directly supervises employees in the Banquet and Restaurant Departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for maintaining cash bank.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.

What you need to perform this job successfully:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and carry out complex instructions, correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and leaders to complete property/corporate initiatives and effective day to day operations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Effective labor management to minimize overtime and ensure appropriate staff assignment to guest traffic flow.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Required to walk and stand throughout the majority of each shift.
  • Required to regularly lift 20-40 pounds.
