Under general direction, develops, implements and evaluates exercise prescriptions and exercise sessions for all phases of cardio/pulmonary rehab as well as other chronic illnesses. Creates educational materials and provides education to both cardio/pulmonary patients and other patients referred to the cardiac rehab program. Extremely knowledgeable of cardiac risk factors. Provides all aspects of care management to the Phase II patients in an effective, timely, inspirational manner.
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in exercise physiology or related field. Masters
EXPERIENCE: 1 year in cardiac rehab.
LICENSURE: Current A.C.L.S.; A.C.S.M. Exercise Specialist certification or AACVPR
certified cardiac rehab professional within one year of employment.
SKILLS: Ability to deal with a wide variety of people. Ability to interpret 12-lead
ECGs, EKG rhythm strips, and take vitals. Knowledgeable about readiness
to change and coaching to optimal outcomes.
