The Peer Specialist engages the consumers in a variety of activities, and applies the Principles of Recovery in assisting consumers with engagement, awareness, support, and community integration skills. The focus of the Peer Specialist is on engagement of the consumer, providing hopeful information about recovery and wellness, and providing direct program services through groups and 1:1 interventions.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Equivalency and 1 year of related or personal Mental health experience . Higher degree is a plus. Computer skills are an essential function. State peer specialist certification preferred or is willing to become certified within a year (at PMHS expense). Must have access to a reliable vehicle. Valid PA driver’s license required.
37.5 hour work week; primarily Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM with flexibility to meet program needs
