Provide individual vocational and pre-vocational supportive counseling to assist consumers in establishing career goals; help identify and carry out action steps necessary to achieve goals; and assist consumers to recognize and manage symptoms of mental illness, addictions, or other barriers that may interfere with their ability to meet goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide life-skills training and Vocational Rehabilitation hourly/supported employment services to assist consumers in gaining the skills and confidence necessary to achieve career goals i.e., interviewing, social skills, career discovery and job readiness, job search skills, hygiene, reliability, time management, financial literacy, benefits management, etc.
Conduct job coaching/pre-employment coaching to assist consumers with problem solving. Provide support on/off the work site.
Complete clinical and Vocational Rehabilitation documentation that is accurate, timely, meets organizational standards in composition/content and is adequate to communicate consumer progress/challenges.
Participate on assigned treatment team(s) for the purpose of summarizing, reviewing and developing employment goals and appropriate interventions.
Maintain communication with referral sources and other involved parties as approved by the individual consumer.
Comply with caseload and billing expectations; adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
Assist job developer/provide job development services and coordinate work experience, and job shadow opportunities in the absence of a job developer; develop employment opportunities based on each consumer needs, abilities, and interests.
Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year college or university with coursework in business, counseling, education, psychology, social work or related field preferred. High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of paid/volunteer experience in employment, behavioral health, criminal justice, or other human services field required. Candidates must be computer literate in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, and select programs required to carry out the duties of the position. Must have excellent verbal and have the ability to communicate with diverse groups i.e., consumers, staff, employers, court officials, etc. Satisfactory driving record and reliable transportation required.
