ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Work closely with Distribution Leadership to ensure all employees have a higher understanding of the WMS system.
Provide a high level of communication with the Distribution Center Leadership of dock to dock events. Keep dash boards and key goals up to date.
Mentor staff, specifically upper level team members.
Provide a communication link between all departments, data center, inventory, traffic and receiving and shipping department to maintain optimum service levels.
High level monitoring of all incoming containers and pending shipments to plan for staff requirements.
Develop and implement process improvement ideas.
Identify and make recommendations on safety issues.
Maintain proper levels of supplies required for the distribution center.
Build and maintain good working relationships with internal as well as external customers. Resolve all distribution issues in a timely manner.
Report any QA issues which need resolution. Work with QA to resolve issues.
Work with inventory control to resolve inventory issues in a timely manner.
Set-up, monitor and complete re-work projects efficiently and effectively.
Attend required meetings.
Directly supervise up to 10-15 warehouse employees and temporary staff.
Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with policies and practices.
Responsible for training employees, planning, assigning, and directing their daily work.
Prepare and deliver performance reviews. Reward and discipline employees as needed.
Observe and correct issues on the floor.
Ensure building security at all times and responsible for locking up at shift end.
5+ years of supervisory experience, as well as 5 years of distribution center experience required.
High school diploma or GED required. Associated degree preferred.
Experience with warehouse management systems (E BizNet Solutions/ NetSuite a plus). Understand pick pack operation with continuous flow. Understanding of serialization, license plates, zone picking.
Various material handling equipment experience: clamp trucks, push pull systems, conveyors, etc.
Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills.
Ability to make decisions in stressful fast paced situations.
Ability to set up and monitor projects.
Ability to understand and document work flow and process flow.
Ability to work well on time constraints.
