This position works as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team for a federal government contract to perform investigations to identify fraud, waste and abuse in the billing by Medicare and Medicaid providers.

Full-Time with full benefits

Position is contingent upon contract award to Catapult

Work location is an office to be determined in Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; or New Orleans, LA

Travel may be required 5% to 10% of the time

Multiple positions may be filled at varying experience levels (entry-level, mid-career and lead/senior) Responsibilities:

  • Performs in-depth evaluation and analysis of potential fraud cases and requests for information (RFIs) using claims information and other sources of data.
  • Supports the development of complex cases that involve high dollar amounts, sensitive issues, or that otherwise meet criteria for referral to law enforcement, recoupment of overpayment, and/or administrative action based on reactive and proactive data analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in any Statistical or Mathematical fields, or a closely related field such as Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering/Applications, Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering/Management or foreign degree equivalent (May also include a combination of degrees equating to a U. S. Master’s degree).
  • A demonstrated knowledge of health care and claims or a combination of education is preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and algorithm development, which may be gained during academic studies.
  • Knowledge of or coursework in MS Excel, SAS, SQL and/or other applications to perform various types of data analysis.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence.

Abilities Required:

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel while typing at a computer keyboard.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, or lift objects up to 10 pounds.
  • The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The vision requirements include: close vision.
