Responsible for ensuring that assigned sales, marketing, and operational materials are in compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and applicable federal agencies within designated timeframes. This position reports to the Director, Compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of methods, policies and procedures to ensure that all sales, marketing, promotion and operational documents, and activities utilized by clients for member and provider communications, are compliant with CMS deadlines and regulations.
Read and interpret documents such as laws, CMS regulations, administrative instructions and/or manuals to support corporate strategic plans, and to prepare required CMS documents.
Assist all internal departments to ensure appropriate communication and implementation of CMS regulations are followed.
Write, revise, and maintain documents related to the sale and marketing of Medicare Advantage products and submit the materials for approval through the CMS processes, within the mandated deadlines.
Assist with maintenance of web sites related to the sale and marketing of Medicare Advantage products.
Prepare and present scripts, speeches, presentations, reports, and recommendations to management and coordinate the filing of regulatory forms, reports, etc.
Support maintenance of relationships with CMS and applicable government agencies.
Assist Director, Compliance with special projects as assigned and maintain detailed tracking of work projects and timelines.
Facilitate CMS review of materials through research and investigation of the questions raised by, and requests made by CMS.
EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:
Three (3) to Five (5) years or more professional experience in related field.
Experience and knowledge in preparation and submission of materials for Medicare Advantage plans.
Direct experience working in or with Medicare Advantage plans.
Experience with CMS regulations regarding member and sales communications for Medicare Advantage plans.
Experience in legal research and monitoring of federal and state regulatory laws and legislations.
Experience in medical benefit design, marketing and health care policy.
Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.
