Collection Specialist job – GC Services – Columbus, OH

Overview

Provide quality customer service, information regarding products/client requirements, and assistance to inbound and outbound callers while resolving defaulted accounts.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls

Provide a variety of potential solutions for the caller

Handle all customer calls, despite degree of difficulty, in a courteous and business-like manner

Resolve customer matters in a manner that is within client and legal guidelines

Respond constructively to the frequent monitoring of calls and feedback necessary to ensure performance and compliance

Input notations in computer and system as necessary Comply with legal, client, and Company requirements regarding the FDCPA and other applicable laws

Cope with high-stress environment caused by speaking with emotional callers

Meets minimum assigned budget on a monthly basis

Adhere to Company attendance, punctuality, and meal and rest break requirements

Maintain concentration and focus in order to meet performance goals

React positively to an ongoing, changing environment

Demonstrate the ability to handle pressure when attempting to meet deadlines and performance goals

Maintain good working relationship with assigned supervisors and coworkers

Work safely without presenting a threat to self or others

Perform additional duties as required by management

Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma or GED is required; Must not have any student loans in default

Experience:
No experience necessary; 6 months of collections experience or 1 year of customer service experience is preferred

Computer Experience:
Must be able to type quickly and accurately, use a mouse effectively, and have a basic understanding of Windows-based operating systems.

Skills & Abilities:
Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing

Interpret a constant flow of information

Listen effectively

Work with and apply basic mathematical concepts

Deal with difficult interactions with customers

Respond to customer inquiries and statements effectively

Write in a clear and concise manner

Manage time effectively

Solve problems or issues that may come up
