CLERK III (Receptionist)/Direct Medical Care/University Health Services job – University of Massachusetts Amherst – Amherst, MA


(35-weeks minimimum per year)

Greets patients, registers demographic and insurance information in computer system. Schedules appointments. Functions as clinic receptionist. Processes payments and patient records. Works under the direct supervision of the RN Clinical Manager, who establishes work schedules, duty assignments and verifies work performance.

Associate Degree from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or equivalent Medical Office experience or successful completion of certification for Certified Medical Assistant.

Good oral & written communication skills including telephone etiquette.

Knowledge of insurance plans.

Computer experience.

Ability to carry out duties requiring physical work.

Working knowledge of basic hospital/clinic practice management and medical terminology.

Additional Information:
Work Schedule: Saturday/Sunday 10:30am-5:30pm, Tuesday/Thursday 8:30am-3pm and Wednesday 10am-4pm (30 hours per week).
